Kent Career Technical Center

I am an instructor at the Kent Career Tech Center (KCTC) in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  KCTC is a career and technical center for juniors and seniors who elect to spend part of their day away from their normal high school to pursue a study in one of 22 different programs offered at the center.  Currently, there are more than 2000 students from all over Kent County who attend daily.  The students learn valuable skills, explore careers, make business connections, earn high school and college credit, and begin their futures

KCTC offers three sessions each day, Monday through Friday, and each session is two and a quarter hours long.  There is no cost for the student or the sending school to attend although the sending school does provide transportation. Since students spend several hours away from their normal school every day it is possible for students to earn some math, language arts, science and/or visual performing arts credits.  It is also possible to earn college credit and articulated college credit for area colleges such as Davenport University, Grand Rapids Community College and Ferris State University
